Modern slavery statement.

Introduction

This statement is made on behalf of Resident.Place, operated by Affordable Homes For Life Ltd, as part of the Affordable Homes For Life Group. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity, and to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and our supply chain.

Our business

Resident.Place is a neutral, cross-provider app that residents use to manage their homes. Our people work in product, engineering, design, data and resident support, most of them in the UK. We consider the direct risk of modern slavery within our own workforce to be low, and we monitor it nonetheless.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain is mainly technology and professional services, including cloud hosting, software tools and specialist contractors. We assess suppliers for modern slavery risk as part of onboarding, with closer scrutiny where a supplier’s own workforce or sub-contracting may carry higher risk.

Our policies

• A code of conduct that sets clear ethical standards for our people and suppliers.
• A whistleblowing route so concerns can be raised safely and confidentially.
• Fair recruitment and pay practices, including paying the real Living Wage.
• Supplier terms that require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Due diligence

We carry out proportionate checks on new suppliers, keep contractual commitments in place, and investigate any concern that is raised. Where we identify a risk, we work with the supplier to address it, and we are prepared to end relationships where standards are not met.

Training and awareness

We raise awareness of modern slavery among our people, particularly those involved in recruitment and procurement, so they can recognise and report the signs.
